A Festive December Mocktail for Your Health

Cranberries abound this time of year and it’s hard to miss those beautiful round rubies. They make a beautiful addition to any festive meal. These little tart berries of the vaccinium family, grow best in northern latitides from Washington State to Massachusetts and into Canada as well as across northern Europe and Asia.

Cranberries are full of health benefits. They are synonymous with urinary track infections as a way to kill off and break up bacterial biofilms. But they can also aid with weight loss, colon, eye, heart, kidney, dental and skin health, as well as depression, stress, digestion, cholesterol, stomach ulcers, anti-aging, inflammation and boosting the immune system.
These are little balls of anti-oxidants, packed with vitamins C, E, K1, manganese, copper, and a healthy dose of both insoluble and soluble fiber. Why wouldn’t you want to find a way every day to get a handful into your diet?

As December is a month for making merry, if you are hosting a party or just want to kickback and relax next to a nice fire after a long day, mix up a glass of this cranberry mocktail for your health.

For each serving you will need:
1/2 cup unsweetened cranberry juice – I like to make my own with just cranberries and water, but look for bottles at the grocery store that don’t add any sugar/sweeteners.
1 cup sparking water (or other sparkling – you do you).
1 sprig of rosemary
1 tbs fresh cranberries.
Pour it all in a glass and enjoy. Your friends will be so impressed.
