Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a part of Chinese Medicine that incorporates the use of sterilized needles inserted into the body at specific points to stimulate healing in a complete and systematic way. Chinese Medicine has been practiced for thousands of years and made its way to the US in the 1970s. At Holisitique, acupuncture is blended with the understanding of western medical science and homeopathic diagnosis. This allows us to provided an experience of acupuncture that is truly unique to our clinic.

Does Acupuncture Hurt?

No, pain is not part of an acupuncture treatment. However, you may feel a sensation that is typically described as dullness, heaviness, or a movement along parts of the body (what are known as meridians). While these sensations might be unexpected, most people enjoy what they feel.

How Does It Work?

There are a couple theories that try to explain acupuncture from the understanding of western medicine. Perhaps the most interesting is that acupuncture restores proper communication between cells by stimulating our innate growth patterns (known as embryology). In a real sense, acupuncture is reprograming you to normalize by tapping into your body’s origin of development. Pretty fascinating.
